About The Event
Paints – Any Artists’ Quality brands of watercolour paint, but my preferred watercolour paints are Daniel Smith and Winsor & Newton’. I will leave a reequipments list with Peter at the shop. But for starters bring along your three primary colours.
- Hansa Yellow Light (Daniel Smith)
- Phthalo Blue Green Shade (Daniel Smith)
- Quinacridone Magenta (Daniel Smith)
- Please do not squeeze out your paints as we will be mixing them into your empty wells.
Paper – 300gsm Cold Pressed medium or Rough watercolour paper in a block or pad at least A3 size. (About a ¼ sheet size or larger), Or buy full sheets that can be cut down. Again, only buy Artists’ quality.
Brushes - Bring whatever watercolour brushes you already own but make sure you have a mop and a round with a good point. Don’t panic over brushes as I have a large collection, I am willing to share.
Palette – It is important your palette have large mixing wells. I use the Robert Wade palette from PNE Art and Framing.
Wells – For this lesson you will need to have at least 12 empty wells to mix colour for the workshops.
Other Stuff – Drawing equipment should include a 4B or 2B pencil, kneadable eraser and sketch book. Bring an old rag, tissues or paper towels and masking tape. A spray bottle would also be handy. I will supply the board. If you have a table easel feel free to bring it.
