About The Event

Poetry evokes an awareness of experience or an emotional response.  How can this be conveyed in watercolour when there are no tubes of paint labelled harmony, serenity, or drama?  The key to composing a poetic painting with mood and emotion is to capture the atmosphere.  Students will learn how to balance warm and cool colours, lost and found edges for a dynamic outcome.  Time will be devoted to a lesson on colour mixing. A thumbnail concept will be developed to scale up for the afternoon session.

I cater for all skill levels, so do not be apprehensive if you are new this this medium.

We will be painting around a large table on my back deck. It is shaded but you may require warm clothing if the weather is cool. I will supply mounting boards and water buckets.  For those needing watercolour brushes, I have a selection that students may use for the class.  You are welcome to bring your own easel if you wish to stand. The class will be restricted to 8 participants so that each student will receive individual attention to achieve their best.

Morning and afternoon tea is included but you will need to bring your own lunch. The kitchen is available for preparation and heating if required.
